OOTD: Autumnal Rust

Hi sweethearts!

Today I decided to take inspiration from the falling leaves and go autumnal in rust.

The dress is a size 44, which is one to little for me, it was tiiiight! LOL
so I undid the seams in the front and the back, and let the hem down, and now it fits. ;D

It is quite a difficult colour to wear, but I love it, and used black and white to balance it off.
You like?

The outfit:

Dress, H&M (reworked)
Scarf, Zara
Neckless, key chain, Lindex
Gloves and bangle, H&M
Earrings, Accessorize
Booties, Skopunkten

I would like to give a big thanks to the beautiful Eleise of One Artsy Mama for featuring me!

Also, I would love for you to read and comment on my previous post about my feature-series.
Tell me, am I wrong to feature bloggeristas of all sizes?

OOTD: I Am 32 Flavors, And Then Some

I am now back from my lovely Oregon Coast family vacation and am killing myself playing catch up so please bear with me while I get back in the swing of things. I have so many things to cover this week and also am trying to pull it together with school and back at the office, it should be a crazy week for me. Lucky enough though we got back from vacation just to send the kids off to camp so hopefully with a kid free week I should be able to  handle all the craziness I have ahead of me!
Before I left Candace and I shot 10 different looks some of which you already saw last week before I decided to put the dang laptop away and ENJOY MY VACATION! But now that I am back you will get to see the rest them! First we have a dress you have seen me in before but styled for winter. Well this dress truly is a great Spring and Summer piece and I love wearing it the way it was intended.

I picked up this Pure Energy dress at Target on clearance a few months back for a whopping $6.24 it was a great find and I have really worn the hell out of it. It is probably one of the most comfortable dresses I own, it is a good length for everyday either office or while running around town and I love the Raspberry Sherbert Coloring of the pink. It reminds me of an ice cream cone and I love that reminder for summer! I paired it with my comfortable black canvas wedges from Payless, and a great wire necklace from designer Amy Radue.

OOTD: Color Me Happy!

Today the sun returned to Oslo, and I celebrated by wearing my new colourful dress
from H&M :)

As some of you readers may know, I like to buy two dresses and make them into
one instead of giving up on dresses that are too small.
I didn`t bother to try this dress on so I just though, oh well, I`ll get two and fix it later. But as it
turned out the dress fit fine, and so I just used some of the fabric from the second dress to add to the length of this one, and the rest of the other dress will make a lovely summery top!

I worked the dress with my new nude sandals by DNA, bangles and ring from H&M
and a black neckless (that I put on some black string) from Accessorize.

My dear readers, I hope there is sun in your lives as well today.

OOTD: And I'm Feeling Good

So some of you may have seen my tweets last weekend about looking like either a hooker or like I was doing the walk of shame while wearing a certain dress at 7am. Well this happens to be that dress. Now I realize it really is a great dress and I love how these pics came out but you can see where those thoughts came from right? LOL

I picked up this dress which I am now referring to THE HOTTEST DRESS EVER! during the 50% Off Clearance Sale at Torrid last week and was so pleased when I got it and tried it on. It is a great bandage dress made from a great heavy material that keeps it structures in all the right places but is actually still really comfortable. It’s a bit more busty then my liking but is totally club appropriate which is probably where I would be most like to wear it. I am guessing I could probably layer it up a bit too with some sort of cami, and nice bomber jacket and some sexy booties and tights for cooler months too. Either way I know I will be looking good in this amazing dress!  For the shoot I paired it with my lace ankle black leggings from Torrid and my killer black heels that were a gift from my friend K. I wanted to keep it really simple since its such a BAM kind of dress and just wore my diamond stud earrings for accessories. I’m  sure I could definitely style this dress in a ton of different ways though and make it killer!

OOTD: What Are Ya Gonna Do? Shoot Da Swans? These lovelies?

Guess who broke the law last weekend? You guessed it me Miss Goodie Goodie!! Ok now breaking into the paddle boats at the park and parking in loading zones may not seem like Bag Girl behavior but for me it is, especially since i’m typically a bit by the book! But I couldnt resist when I put on this dress Saturday and was on my way to meet up with Candace Sweet I just couldn’t stop thinking about taking the shots in this location!

First off let me tell ya that while I love the water and enjoy a good swim every now and then I am soooo not a boat kinda girl, infact I get sea sick on ferries,  and the thought of taking a dip in the nasty lake sounded absolutely awful. It must have been pretty amusing wathing my fraidy cat booty trying to get into this boat in wedges none the less, but I accomplished it and it was one of the highlights of my shoot!

I picked this dress up from Torrid online last summer during one of there fabulous 50% off clearance sales and wasn’t sure about it until it arrived. This dress fits my body perfectly and is such a  fun tie dyesc print. I normally don’t really wear blue but this dress is one of my summer faves. I love that it has black in it so I can pair it with black leggings and a cardi for the office but can also wear it with bare legs and a great sandal. I chose to wear it with leggings Saturday since it was a bit chilly, but no cardi here! Hopefully you noticed that my outfit posts were all missing cardigans  and jackets this week as it is getting warmer and I am loving showing a bit of skin. I don’t have any shame in my arms so I’m glad to show them off!

Well this is the last post that you will be seeing from me until Monday. Nightrider and I are headed to Eugene Oregon to visit her cousin and let off a bit of steam. I am in serious need of a break as I have been working really hard and I will be only working a half day today even. Unfortunately since I will be out of town Candace and I probably wont do another shoot until  Tuesday Evening but hopefully I should have some great photos from my vacation and I will make sure to get a couple shots of my outfits from Nightrider. I hope everyone has a lovely weekend and I am going to enjoy some much needed rest, relaxation, hippes and tequilla!

OOTD: In Those Hollywood Hills, She Was Looking So Right In Her Diamonds & Frills

k so Boise is nothing like Hollywood but this dress made me think of these Bob Seger lyrics, and I am rolling with it. Since its Cinco De Mayo and around these neck of the woods what we call Cinco De Drinko I thought a fun club dress would be a great outfit for today’s post!

Photos By Candace Sweet <---Follow Her On Facebook

This Eyelash dress from Torrid is one of my favorite purchases I’ve made this year. I picked it up right after Christmas and even paid full price which you all know is rare for me.  This dress fits very comfortably with and elastic waist and the skirt flows out perfectly around the hips and thighs. The bodice of this dress is a nice gray cotton and is racer back with a  big  knot. It is super cute and a fun detail that I wish I would have caught on camera for you all. Damn cold weather, I was freezing and forgot to shoot the back. The eyelash frill detail on the dress is awesome and has great movement making this a great dress to dance the night away in! I paired this dress with my favorite bow tie satin heels that I picked up at Shoe Carnival and then gave it a little extra sass with my black and silver sparrow necklace that came from Torrid as well. I have worn this dress out to party and have also worn it to the office a time or two with black leggings and a cardi in the past.

Candace and I took these photos in the parking lot of a great office building in Downtown Boise. I saw the location from a distance earlier in the week when I was pulling out of the bank and knew instantly that it would be the perfect place to shoot this dress!

OOTD: It's A Lovely Thing, The Animal Instinct

I featured this dress a couple of weeks ago as a DWD because I was so excited about ordering it! I love a great animal print dress and Torrid never lets me down when it comes to these type of pieces!

Photos by Candace Sweet <---- Follow her on Facebook!

I couldn’t be happier with this dress, it fits like it was made for me and even though it has a plunging neckline it has extra fabric on the bust that keeps it down on your breasts just showing the perfect amount of cleavage. This dress is cotton and super comfortable and has a diamond hem that gives it some extra dimension as well as a fitted waist and side ties that make it fit any body perfectly!

I love the way this dress fits, looks and feels. It is seriously so comfortable but so edgy and trendy as well! I wore this dress with simple black leggings also from Torrid (it’s still a bit chilly out) but could easily wear it with bare legs for summer too. I paired it with my black canvas wedges from Payless. When I wore this to the office I added on the black cardi from Torrid as well.  The bracelet I am wearing is from designer Amy Radue and is on of my new favorite accessories!

Candace and I had a great time shooting this fun outfit with a great pin-up vibe outside Ink Vision Tatoo in Boise!

I feel so good in this dress and I think it shows!  What do you think, am I rocking the cheetah print or what?

Summer Trends: The White Dress

Keep yourself cool this summer with a chic white dress. The thing I love the most about this trend is you can definitely mix it up! It's as easy as adding a colorful accessory, a short sleeved cardigan, flip flops, or whatever you want! Or simply just wear it by itself. It's a no-brainer. Don't you just love easy fashion?

My golden rule: Don't mix up different shades of white, keep it simple.

Playing Dress Up

Ever since I was a little girl growing up in Paris my fashion has been all about dresses, many of which my mother used to sew for me.

This is me at about three years old, holding on to my brother :)

Growing up I took to sewing my own dresses, inspired by my lovely mum. I love the look and feel of flowing fabrics, and (hehe) it also solves the problem of not finding jeans that fit my so called "hourglass honey"-shape.

(If you want to find out about your shape and what is the perfect fit for you check out a previous blog called "Its all about the shape girls").

This is my absolute favorite dress these days, that I dress up and down accordingly, but lets face it, we`re mostly talking dressed UP :)

Who says fuller figures can`t wear white? I had a personal fashion breakthrough when I sewed this dress from two Vero Moda dresses.

Grey Dress Duplex

What to do when you find a fab dress that doesn`t fit? Get two!

Never one to succumb to the tyranny of size, that`s what I did when I spotted a lovely grey dress adorned with a studded neckline from Gina Tricot that I simply couldn`t leave without.

(I`ve spent years working up the courage to go to shops that don`t carry my size without feeling like an absolute schmuck, and now that I really feel that it`s not me and my size that`s the problem I`m making the most of this positive outlook on fashion, -because I`m bloody well worth it, haha! )

So, home I went, and after a bit of cutting and sewing I was ready to go out that night in my one of a kind flowy grey dress.

I actually love the studs on the dress so much that now the neckline from the second dress is humouristically displayed in our spare room!

Let`s face it though, it probably is only a matter of time before the neckline has been reworked into a bag, courtesy of yours truly :D

Like the grey studded look? Here are some more grey goodies. Yes please!

Summer Trends 2010: The Infamous MAXI

This summer trend will not only have you looking chic, but it will keep you comfy! I love that combo, don't you? With its floor touching length, the maxi dress was made for me...and you. It's so versatile too. You can dress it down with a pair of flip flops or dress it up a bit with a cute wedge or heel. If you wear it into the evening you can throw on your favorite cardigan or Pashmina wrap. Oh...if you were wondering I'm loving #9!

My golden rule: If the dress has a vibrant print, make sure to keep your jewelry simple.

OOTD: Fun & Flirty Versitility

Hi Ladies, todays Fierce Fit of The Day showcases the versatility of a flirty sun dress and how to take it from business casual to the perfect look for lunch with the girls. This dress was a steal for $6.99 at Ross. Can you believe I almost passed it up? Coincidently I found that the last pieces in my very own closet. Starting with the business casual look, the khaki jacket is phenomenal and definitely one of my favorite pieces because it is so versatile. The belt cinches the waist and gives a great shape. To finish the look I added a red crocodile hard wallet. For the more casual look, I brought in a basic jean jacket and a pair of taupe suede peep toe wedges and VIOLA ! The look is complete and it all started with a little sun dress.

ASOS Curve Dress Review

So I have mentioned this dress from ASOS Curve before, but have never done any pics on it. This dress is one of my favorite pieces I have ever owned. It is bright, structured, a little bit crazy for my current local, and absolutely fabulous! This dress brings a smile to my face every time I see it hanging in my closet and also puts and extra spring in my step every time I wear it. ASOS Curve is such a great line and the quality of their clothing is amazing. The fit is also impeccable. Normally it can be a bit tricky for me ordering from the UK with my size, especially because I tend to fit in smaller dress sizes then i do anything else. I ordered this in a 22UK and it fits ideally with a loose quality I can enjoy for Spring, especially with the fabulous light fabric, but can be structured with a corset belt like I did today.

The corset belt i’m wearing today came from Torrid with this dress that I love as well and is now on CLEARANCE! My black cotton leggings with lace bottoms are also from Torrid and I don’t think I could live without them. My wedge peeptoes are from Payless. It was a bit cold out today so I added my black bomber from Yours Clothing to completely the look.

I am feeling great in this look, and it is even effecting my mood, i feel full of sunshine and energy and I think that is in large part to the ASOS Curve Dress. I can’t wait until I have some shopping money again so I can purchase more from them. I especially have my eye on this this and this. Another great thing about ASOS Curve is that Vanessa Reece has been hired on as their new fit model. She has a great curvy body and I know that the clothes are going to fit even better and be even more amazing with her involvement!

Whats your favorite good mood piece?

Teaching "An Old Dog" New Tricks

I got this idea from 'A Diva in Deep Thought'. She showed an outfit that she put together with a convertible blue skirt. This is an old Lane Bryant skirt from 2007.

I haven't bought anything new in a while, so I was feeling a bit down with my outdated wardrobe. I was actually going to donate this. I got my favorite accessory (the wide belt) and fashioned my old linen skirt into the dress you see.

It actually looked pretty good! It even seems with the trend you see in the much better example at the end of this post. My web cam is my only means to taking pictures, so please excuse the grainy, blurry, and bad lighting of these pictures.

Hope you enjoy my little trick that I got from 'A Diva Deep In Thought'.

Until next time,
Jayla from UNIQUE I.D.
