OOTD: Anniversary Dreamy and my PrincessDivas Makeovers

Before I go on to my outfit... I wanted to take a minute to show my little angels (Mis Angelitas). I cut and styled their hair today. Here are the before and after pics...

The first row is the before pics. And the last row is how they looked when all the work was done.

Mari (4yr old) - Has a hatred for hair and having her hair done. She screams and hollers until I want to cut all my hair off.

Yaz (6yr old) - Loves her hair, and although it is thick and curly, she still wants to wear it out. I texterized her hair (trust me, I had no other choice) and then trimmed some dead ends. She is estatic.

Now as for me, when I preparing for my pre-anniversary day of errands(its tomorrow), I decided that pink would be an awesome way to say… I Love You! As it is one of my favorite colors (seriously I have so many, who can keep up) but I just wanted to look nice. We didn’t go anywhere special, but I could tell that hubby was happy & proud to be with me everywhere we went. Also, I felt so pretty… and that’s what really counts.

We all deserve pretty days like today, I have to admit I'm blessed with a kinda high confidence so my “unpretty” days are few and far between. But today was different, I felt… aglow… does that make sense? Have you ever had a day where pretty just didn’t seem to fully express how great you feel?

OOTD: Signature Power Plus

Okay, well... Oh happy day! Each day I grow closer to the end of this drama and this mess. What is really crazy, I feel stronger the closer that last day gets. Today I am feeling EXTRA strong and beautiful. It may have something to do with me rocking my favorite combination Purple and Red. If you've been reading for a while, you know that RED is my power color and PURPLE is my signature color. So I went all matchy matchy by making all the accessories and makeup come together with those two colors. It was a last minute decision, but I'm glad I made it. If you think that I have on too much of the color, let me know. I do want honest feedback because as I grow in this site and in my fashion. I want you to be able to see my progress!

Again, I have to get sappy on you all and say that all the support and love I get here is so overwhelming sometimes and I do find myself crying after some of your comments because you truly and honestly make my day. You're all AWESOME!

OOTD: The Green Eyed Monster

So I think that today's title is perfect, because I am currently being HATED on. So that Green Eyed Monster title fits. Jealousy in this office is running rampant. I have never done anything to anyone to deserve being treated like this. I still can't go into complete details but it hurts. It hurts when someone you trusted as a mentor stabs you in the back like this.

It also fits because this morning when I couldn't bear to look at the ugly drab gray and black outfit in the mirror I knew I needed a kick of color. I wanted to be kick ass today and I needed my color to be equally strong. Pink, purple, nor teal seemed to fit. So I grabbed my green tank and immediately envisioned the matching eye shadow. The accessories were an after thought but I think it all works. I am really proud of this outfit for two reasons. I took a risk matching 3 colors (which I rarely do) and I am still showing up looking professional. Regardless if I am not being treated professionally. What do my divas think?

BTW, I really appreciate all the support I get here. If not for this blog and my writing in general I don't know where I would be.

OOTD: My Maxi To The Max!

Today I realized that with all the drama unfolding at work I was not going to be as strong in jeans. I decided cuteness would give me the "Cajones" to make it through the day and not lose my mind. I can't enlighten you on all the details until this drama is over. But oh what a post it will be!!!

Before the pictures, a little information on my outfit. Last year when maxi dresses were all the craze. I knew I wanted one but online I kept finding them for $50 (sometimes for much much more than that). I had decided that was NOT in my price range. Then around June or July my friend/coworker decides she wants to go to the mall to look for a dress. She drags me into this place. You may have heard of it? It's called Marshall's. It was my first time going into Marshall's (I had been with my mother once but I didn't know what it was and we were there to return something so I thought it was just like Burlington, only messier). So after that experience and finding like 5 dresses I couldn't live without. I couldn't stay out of there last summer. This dress was probably my favorite find (second goes to this ethnic mustard halter that will come later). My coworker and I decided this dress deserved to be photographed outside and I agreed!

What do you think?

Teaching "An Old Dog" New Tricks

I got this idea from 'A Diva in Deep Thought'. She showed an outfit that she put together with a convertible blue skirt. This is an old Lane Bryant skirt from 2007.

I haven't bought anything new in a while, so I was feeling a bit down with my outdated wardrobe. I was actually going to donate this. I got my favorite accessory (the wide belt) and fashioned my old linen skirt into the dress you see.

It actually looked pretty good! It even seems with the trend you see in the much better example at the end of this post. My web cam is my only means to taking pictures, so please excuse the grainy, blurry, and bad lighting of these pictures.

Hope you enjoy my little trick that I got from 'A Diva Deep In Thought'.

Until next time,
Jayla from UNIQUE I.D.

OOTD: My Boost Of Power

If you've been by here from time to time... I am sure you know that RED is my power color. And PURPLE is my "signature" color (according to my BFF Diva Dawn). So because the last few days have been a little hard to handle... I thought I could use a boost from both colors. I had a meeting today so I wanted to look my best while also feeling powerful and intellectual. I think this outfit accomplishes both tasks. I actually ended wear a more "covered" red top... but for the pictures... I got hot and took off a layer.

Outfit Breakdown:

Tank: Walmart

Crop Sweater: Newport News

Pants: New York and Company

Shoes: Micheal Shannon (Off Broady Shoes)

Necklace: Flea Market

Bracelet: Dots

Earrings: Claires

Even though I am extra bloated today... I still felt attractive... I also loved how my red/purple makeup turned out:
