Jeans, cardigans, and I, we go way back. There's nothing I love more than throwing on a comfy pair of jeans, a tank top, and a simple black cardigan. They make me a happy chica! Here are two casual outfits where accessories and shoes can make a difference. Outfit #1 was for a dinner and I wore outfit #2 to the Sassy City Chicks event. I am obsessed with the gladiator sandals. Love them!!

Summer Trend 2010: Gladiator Sandals

Sandal Season is here!! Well, it is in L.A. Sorry, I don't mean to brag. Some of you will get yours soon! Then you'll want to try this trend, if you haven't already.

This is another shoe style that I didn't really love at first. That is until I tried it on and the gladiator sandal captured my heart. These go great with maxi dresses, capris, shorts, skirts, and even skinny jeans. If you have a wide foot, don't worry...Torrid has us covered!

I just want to thank all those hunky Roman gladiators for bringing us this trend!

My golden rule: Make sure you try them on before buying them! I know this sounds like common sense, but the width can be tricky in these.

Summer Trends: The White Dress

Keep yourself cool this summer with a chic white dress. The thing I love the most about this trend is you can definitely mix it up! It's as easy as adding a colorful accessory, a short sleeved cardigan, flip flops, or whatever you want! Or simply just wear it by itself. It's a no-brainer. Don't you just love easy fashion?

My golden rule: Don't mix up different shades of white, keep it simple.

Summer Trends 2010: The Infamous MAXI

This summer trend will not only have you looking chic, but it will keep you comfy! I love that combo, don't you? With its floor touching length, the maxi dress was made for me...and you. It's so versatile too. You can dress it down with a pair of flip flops or dress it up a bit with a cute wedge or heel. If you wear it into the evening you can throw on your favorite cardigan or Pashmina wrap. Oh...if you were wondering I'm loving #9!

My golden rule: If the dress has a vibrant print, make sure to keep your jewelry simple.

OOTD: Pretty in Paisley

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Sometimes, I like to dress a little girlie. When this feminine mood strikes, I throw on a skirt and a frilly top. Believe me when I say it doesn't happen very often. But, it does happen. Today, was one of those days. I am in love with this paisley skirt! I found it at Macy's for only $7.99! I told you I'm a bargainista! This is my first time wearing it. It makes me feel like a hippie! (That's a good thing.) I was going to try and add this pretty violet belt, but I HATE to over accessorize. It's one of my pet peeves. So, I went without it. A great outfit for a beautiful spring day in L.A.!

Sweet Spring Corals

What's the difference between coral and orange you say? Coral has a touch of pink or red hue. Let's not worry about that...let's just enjoy this vibrant color in our spring wardrobes. There's nothing like a splash of color to wake up the fashion senses.

I've had my eye on #3 for about two weeks now. I think I'm going to go and grab it before it's gone. And don't get me started on #5!! Love love love coral.

My golden rule: Don't let bright colors frighten you! Even if it's a pair of shoes or a rockin' handbag, wear it proud!

Curves & Chaos: Spring Trends - Geometric, Tribal and Ikat print

Repeat after me..."Prints are my friend."

Don't be afraid of this daring spring trend. Geometric, tribal, and ikat are definitely the eye-attracting prints to wear this spring. If you're not into the much loved floral print, then this may be for you.

Any of the tops can be worn with a simple solid color legging or even a skinny jean. I have my eye on #2 and #11. I love the idea of a chic long layered necklace as an accessory. Or even a solid color skinny belt can add definition.

My golden rule: Try not to wear more than one style of print, no combining here! The print is already your bold statement piece.

Curves & Chaos: Spring Trends - Safari

Welcome to the Curves and Chaos jungle!

This safari spring trend is for the fashionista woman warrior.

Colors like camel, khaki, and Army green can be incorporated into any wardrobe. A simple white tee, tank, or blouse is key for bottoms. Tops go great with jeans.

Don't forget your accessories either. Canvas bags and wood adorned jewelry add an edge to any outfit. I can't forget the basketweave-inspired shoe. It's definitely on my shopping list...along with #5.

My golden rule: Be confident in whatever you wear. Remember, it's an urban jungle out there!

Curves & Chaos: Spring Trends - Denim

When I think of denim, the first thing that comes to mind is a great pair of jeans. If you're the same way, you might want to rethink denim this spring. It's coming at ya' in the form of jewelry, dresses, skirts, shoes, and jackets. Are you ready?

**My fave is #2 the Denim Allure Dress by F21. I wanted to buy it this weekend but they only one left and it was too small!

My golden rule: Don't do denim head to toe. Add one piece and work around it. You don't want to look like a denim factory threw up on you!

Curves & Chaos: Spring Trends - Lace, Flowers & Crochet

Bring out your soft side this spring with lace, flowers, and crocheted pieces. You aren't the dainty type? It's OK, you can add a feminine touch to your outfits with a sexy crocheted back, a flower adorned top, or a simple lace dress. Still too much? Try a lace-inspired piece of lingerie underneath your clothes...then you can go from there.

Don't know what to wear with any of the pieces below? How about pairing any of these tops with a great pair of skinny jeans or leggings. Adding a simple ballet flat will add a romantic touch to any of the dresses below. Not into flats? A nude or taupe heel could work.

Remember: lace, flowers, and crochet don't have to be your worst enemy.

My golden rule: Don't forget to keep it simple. You don't want to look too adorned.
