OOTD: 90's Floral Flashback

OOTD: Leopard and Studs, Perfectly Suited

Well, hello there! Peacock-happy!

Today I was feeling confident in a leopard blue dress and a studded bolero jacket, not a bad thing during a challenging day at work!

I reworked the top of the dress from a halterneck to a sweetheart neckline because this accents my hourglass shape where the halterneck just made me look top heavy.  I used the leftover material for a waistband.
The bolero jacket used to be a suit jacket, but now it`s been cropped, tailored to hug my curves and studded by yours truly.

Statement studs, originally part of the neckline of the dress that was left over when I made one dress out of two:

Oh, and before I started stripping the studs off the neckline it made a very nice talking piece! (remember that post?)

... but is it art? :D

I love reworking and reusing loved pieces, and had fun adding studs to my bolero, mirroring the grey leopard spots on the dress.

Do you like to tailor fashion to suit your body better? Tell me how!

xoxo

OOTD: Signature Power Plus

Okay, well... Oh happy day! Each day I grow closer to the end of this drama and this mess. What is really crazy, I feel stronger the closer that last day gets. Today I am feeling EXTRA strong and beautiful. It may have something to do with me rocking my favorite combination Purple and Red. If you've been reading for a while, you know that RED is my power color and PURPLE is my signature color. So I went all matchy matchy by making all the accessories and makeup come together with those two colors. It was a last minute decision, but I'm glad I made it. If you think that I have on too much of the color, let me know. I do want honest feedback because as I grow in this site and in my fashion. I want you to be able to see my progress!

Again, I have to get sappy on you all and say that all the support and love I get here is so overwhelming sometimes and I do find myself crying after some of your comments because you truly and honestly make my day. You're all AWESOME!

Mixing It Up!

I don`t know about you, my fellow fashion-lovers, but I don`t normally like to wear the same outfits several days in a row, mixing it up keeps it more fun I think. However, after a shopping spree last week I have found myself wanting to enjoy my new fave accessories several days in a row, so I have had fun wearing them each day, worked with a different mix of dresses and colours.

Here are two of my outfits with my fave grey scarf, pink ring and grey wegdes from this week:

Gray loves color:
Grey booties and scarf mixed with one of my all time fave purple dresses from Monsoon, gray vest, feathered headband and pink ring. Oh and a wee twinkle ;)

Grey goes muted:

Here are the closeups of my lovely treats:

My lovely fringed grey scarf from St.Tropez, birds and all. And my new pink ring from H&M

Tell me, what are your favorite Spring loving accessories these days?

Purplesque Self Acceptance

What do you get if you mix

.. delicious purple and

.. over the top burlesque?

Honey, let me tell you, mixed right it gets you one of my fashion heroes: the iconic style icon Dita von Teese! This woman is fierce! I love her style, which to me is all about embracing your curves and not apologizing for showing them of! Now there`s a recipe for exuberance and fun! (Yes, AND sex ;) )

As far as I am concerned this life is all about accepting ourselves and giving everything the best we`ve got, and I am happy to tell you that after I stopped coming down hard on my self (such hard work, totally worth it) my life and achievements have soared. In terms of fashion that has opened me up to loving my shape, educating my self on what silhouettes best show off my assets and downplay my flaws (all though my husband -bless him- insists that every part of me is beautiful, but of course this may be an example of his wisdom seeing as how he has to/gets to live with me). More than anything this style-voyage has helped me travel into previously uncharted territory: COLOR! Let`s just say I have arrived! Wearing color helps me feel all woman, and I love it.

Here`s my latest Purlesque project, a sheer purple dress made from fabric I had lying around that plays up my curves:

Actually, just check all of them out, they`re all about loving our selves! ;)

OOTD: Purple Haze

If you read my blog you know I did a bit of shopping recently for inspiration and a way to create new looks for the blogs. So today is my comeback. It's nothing fancy... but it was a comfy outfit to wear hanging out with hubby. I hope this comeback is up to my previous DIVA standards... opinions? Next time I will take the pictures before I sit in the sweater and stretch it out... *smiles*

Also, on the closeup on the shoes, you get a first glance at my new tattoo. It's a lilly, as it is my favorite flower. Probably another reason I'm loving my outfit. Getting tons of attention today...

Sweater: Newport News
Leggings: Newport News
Shoes: Burlington Coat Factory (also new)
New Tattoo: Tribal Tattoo in Crofton, MD (artist: Mike)
