Ok, I think I have found my new pocket guide to being a curvy gal. I recently had the wonderful opportunity of meeting one of my longtime “curvy idols” Chastity Garner. She is one of the 1st plus-sized stylist that I admired when I got started in this business a few years ago. I was delighted to find out that she stepped outside the box and wrote a book for us entitled, “ The Curvy Girl’s Guide to Style”. When I met her, Chastity’s demeanor was so sweet and down to earth and I really appreciated her support for me, especially coming from someone in the same field. I purchased the book at her book signing at Lane Bryant, NYC, at her meet & greet during FFFW. I started reading the book on my way home from NYC and although I have not finished it, I am recommending it just off of the 1st few chapters that I read. She breaks down ALL the different types of body shapes we come in and how to dress for each one as well as giving tips that we can use in everyday life. I’m not at Oprah status (yet) but this is a must read. Chastity’s book is available for only $15 on her site at www.garnerstyle.com

Chaka collection at Evans
I've been checking out the Chaka collection at Evans for a couple weeks now and it has finally launched and is on sale. I love Chaka Khan talented as she is beautiful she only gets better with age. The strong points of this collection for me is definitely the shoes! The Chaka Collection is complete with studded booties, knee high boots, and what do my eyes spy....thigh high boots. I will definitely be giving these bad boys a try and you know I will review them as soon as they come in. http://www.evans.co.uk/

Norma Kamali Convertable Dress Review
Hi Skorch Readers I am Chastity Garner the newest blogger for the Skorch blog and I have a blog of my own. I generally review all fashion that is Curvy. It is nice to meet you all and I hope you like! And yes that me in the photos:)
Last night I assisted with styling for a fashion show and I decided to try out my Norma Kamali Convertable Dress from Walmart. It would allow me to go from day to night really easily. As I started off wearing the dress with the sleeves on with leggings and a pair of flats. When I went to night I wore the dress with one shoulder belted with a pair of peep toe black booties that I had gotten from Torrid at their $19.99 sale (too cute!). I added a necklace from H&M and a bracelet from Banana Republic (picture below).
I had heard a lot of about the Norma Kamali line at Walmart from friends and finally Ashley Falcon of Marie Claire, so I decided to go ahead to http://www.walmart.com/ and order to see what all the fuss was about. I ordered the Norma Kamali - Women's All-in-One Jersey Dress for a whole $24.00 in a XXL. I am always hesistate about something too cheap because I'm worried that the fabric will be terrible and unwearable. To my surprise the dress was great. Besides the fact that you get like 6 dresses for $24. The material of the dress was a heavy and thick matte jersey. Even though the dress is the usually stretchy fabric the dress was stretchy (but not too stretchy) but still had shape. This dress is really a steal at the price and the fact that is really a nice go to dress that can be casually cute of tre tre chic.On a side note I got my Torrid booties in from the $19.99 sale I posted earlier this month. I ordered a purple pair of booties and the black ruffle peep toe booties in and I can I say they are "oh so cute." I hope everyone who ordered liked their order as much as I like mine:)
(Oh and please excuse my naked face...lol...these pics were shot pre-makeup application, so I look a little on the fresh side.)
