The Blackberry Bling???

Have you guys heard of the whole “Blackberry Bling” thing?

Blackberry Bling is when you paint your thumbs a flashy color that’s different from the rest of your nails, so they stand out as you type on–you guessed it–your Blackberry.

The sparkly silver shade she has on her thumbs is “Star Dust”, from a natural nail color brand called M2M by Damore Jon. The inky color on her other nails is “Rock Star” by the same brand (this one’s not for sale quite yet). She got the Mani done at the Wellington Hair Spa in the city.

As for the origin of the Blackberry Bling trend: I received a press release saying that manicurist Dawn Sterling of the Carol’s Daughter Back Room Hand & Foot Spa in New York coined the term and predicted that this would be a big nail trend this winter. Her reasoning? “Everyone has a BlackBerry, and even if you don’t, you’ve got something that you’re texting and emailing on all day–with your thumbs. Since your thumbs are always in sight they’ve become a huge fashion accessory.” In her version, both the thumb and index finger are painted the flashier polish color.

Purplesque Self Acceptance

What do you get if you mix

Honey, let me tell you, mixed right it gets you one of my fashion heroes: the iconic style icon Dita von Teese! This woman is fierce! I love her style, which to me is all about embracing your curves and not apologizing for showing them of! Now there`s a recipe for exuberance and fun! (Yes, AND sex ;) )

As far as I am concerned this life is all about accepting ourselves and giving everything the best we`ve got, and I am happy to tell you that after I stopped coming down hard on my self (such hard work, totally worth it) my life and achievements have soared. In terms of fashion that has opened me up to loving my shape, educating my self on what silhouettes best show off my assets and downplay my flaws (all though my husband -bless him- insists that every part of me is beautiful, but of course this may be an example of his wisdom seeing as how he has to/gets to live with me). More than anything this style-voyage has helped me travel into previously uncharted territory: COLOR! Let`s just say I have arrived! Wearing color helps me feel all woman, and I love it.

Retro, Ruffles & Rock!

As always, I try and make the items I include accessible to the majority of my readers, but as I'm from the UK I work with what I know, so some stores featured may not offer international shipping.

I've been browsing the "New In" of many sites recently. I've compiled this list of what I think are pretty, on-trend and fat-friendly pieces that are on my wish list at the moment. I can't afford them, but they're nice to look at :P

Dresses 2 and 6 I'm loving right now for the retro "feel," Marks and Spencer are a UK store with high prices (I can't afford most of their stuff even though my boyfriend has a discount) but their quality is superior to many of the other fat-friendly retailers, they have a plus line but their straight line usually goes up to 22/24, perfect for myself.

I am also SO in to ruffles and ruched/layered looks aswell, 1, 2 and 5 fit this criteria big time. I also love the embellishment on the Evans waistcoat, it's really cute :D

What about you all, how're you finding Spring's new looks? I've not included military in this because I've already gone over that in the past, and didn't have much luck trying it out personally. I'd love to hear what you have to say.

OOTD: Romping Rompers

Curves & Chaos: Spring Trends - Geometric, Tribal and Ikat print

Repeat after me..."Prints are my friend."

Don't be afraid of this daring spring trend. Geometric, tribal, and ikat are definitely the eye-attracting prints to wear this spring. If you're not into the much loved floral print, then this may be for you.

Any of the tops can be worn with a simple solid color legging or even a skinny jean. I have my eye on #2 and #11. I love the idea of a chic long layered necklace as an accessory. Or even a solid color skinny belt can add definition.

My golden rule: Try not to wear more than one style of print, no combining here! The print is already your bold statement piece.

Welcome to the Curves and Chaos jungle!

This safari spring trend is for the fashionista woman warrior.

Colors like camel, khaki, and Army green can be incorporated into any wardrobe. A simple white tee, tank, or blouse is key for bottoms. Tops go great with jeans.

Don't forget your accessories either. Canvas bags and wood adorned jewelry add an edge to any outfit. I can't forget the basketweave-inspired shoe. It's definitely on my shopping list...along with #5.

When I think of denim, the first thing that comes to mind is a great pair of jeans. If you're the same way, you might want to rethink denim this spring. It's coming at ya' in the form of jewelry, dresses, skirts, shoes, and jackets. Are you ready?

**My fave is #2 the Denim Allure Dress by F21. I wanted to buy it this weekend but they only one left and it was too small!

My golden rule: Don't do denim head to toe. Add one piece and work around it. You don't want to look like a denim factory threw up on you!

Curves & Chaos: Spring Trends - Lace, Flowers & Crochet

Bring out your soft side this spring with lace, flowers, and crocheted pieces. You aren't the dainty type? It's OK, you can add a feminine touch to your outfits with a sexy crocheted back, a flower adorned top, or a simple lace dress. Still too much? Try a lace-inspired piece of lingerie underneath your clothes...then you can go from there.

Don't know what to wear with any of the pieces below? How about pairing any of these tops with a great pair of skinny jeans or leggings. Adding a simple ballet flat will add a romantic touch to any of the dresses below. Not into flats? A nude or taupe heel could work.

Remember: lace, flowers, and crochet don't have to be your worst enemy.
