OOTD: Blah, Blah, Blah!

So for whatever reason I can’t seem to get that Ke$ha song out of my freaking head. I will start singing it for no reason. Not that I'm a huge fan or anything. I really only like that song and the Tik Tok one. Oh well, subject change.

So if you aren’t married, I hope you wait until you are wise enough to find your match. This person should fit you like a glove and compliment your flaws and vice versa. I know you think that means I am going to say I’m wise. Nope! I’m an idiot. I married my husband because he treated me like a queen (Ahhhhh. That Queen Diva is starting to make sense now, isn’t it?) and he allowed me to be the spoiled brat that I am and didn’t seem to mind. I blame my parents for making me this way. Seriously, telling me everyday how cute I was was only going to end badly. But my point is, my husband (of 7 years in June) is my match. I am a shopaholic (which I’m sure you had figured out long ago but I am just now admitting it to myself). I am forgetful, wasteful, and SUCK at budgets. My husband is my match in that he is practically my POLAR opposite. He hates to shop, I have to force him to the mall and convince him he needs jeans. (Nevermind that his Nalgas are hanging out of the jeans that are so destructed that they are a thread away from being booty shorts or knee shorts). He remembers what bills need to be paid with EACH pay check. He will use his clothing until no self-respecting Goodwill will accept it. And he is a Wiz at saving money for our family. My husband is also my inventory manager. He can instantly tell if something I have on is new or not (whether I snipped the tags and tried to pull it off as old. He knows). He also has this thing where if I don’t wear something within a particular timeframe, he starts placing it in Goodwill bags without my knowledge. After a lengthy argument about Goodwill vs. Consignment. He now warns me when something needs to be donated or sold.

Now I said all of that, to get you to this. The dress I am wearing today. I have had it longer than my son has been on this earth. More than 13 years. And because I had ALMOST allowed another winter to pass without it being worn. It was about to be sent away. I don’t know what it is about this sweater dress. I had a lime green one exactly like this one, which I gave to Goodwill years ago. But I can’t bring myself to part with this orange one. After I lost weight and the 22/24 size made it rather shapeless, I actually was a step away from placing it in the bag when a light bulb went off that said. "WAIT, WIDE BELT!" But my loving hubby saw it in the back of the closet recently and said "Hey, you haven’t worn that in two years. Let's donate or sell it?" NOOOOOOOO!!!!! (Bet that blah blah blah is making so much more sense now)

So here I am today wearing a dress that is so old, I have no idea where I bought it. Actually I’m certain I didn’t buy it. My mother did, and I took it from her. So the life of this dress is well, who knows. But I love the color. When I put it on this morning my kids told me I looked beautiful and hubby told me I looked sexy (bet he’s glad I didn’t give it away now). Those two compliments alone have made my day. I still want to know what you think. Opinions?
